Summer’s almost here! Spring lasted about one week this year, so we’re all ready for the beach. Light and breezy books are on display, along with an airy gazebo to relax in. Feel free to enjoy the friendly ambience and the terrific reading selections.

Thanksgiving has come and gone: lots of turkey and pumpkin pie. You’ll notice some changes the next time you see the library: The paperbacks are all in the pit, so that you can browse more comfortably, and the photocopier is now beside the computer lab. Hope you all had a great holiday weekend!

Over the next two days, the library is hosting the IB Art Show. It is the culmination of 2 years work and is worth 70% of the final mark for IB Art students. Public viewing is this evening and independent judging occurs tomorrow.
Monday is Shakespeare’s birthday. We’ll have decorations and a huge slab cake to celebrate. [...]

Some of Mrs. Evans grade 12 students read the Kite Runner as one of their selections and then videoconferenced with students at Rideau High School. Everyone had an enlightening and enjoyable time. We will do more videoconferencing soon.

This week we received 20 Young Adult books including the Book Thief by Markus Zusak about a girl who loves to steal books (don’t get any ideas lol), Avalon High by Meg Cabot for all you romantic types and The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Johathan Stroud, which comes highly recommended by fantasy fans and may also be appealing [...]

We just received books from the Everything series including College Survival, Online Auctions, Home Decorating, Etiquette, Cover Letters, and Writing Research papers.
